Live Stock Market Updates: Nifty hovering around 8800; Grasim is the Nifty top gainer

The INDIA VIX is up 0.11% at 13.25. BSE Sensex is trading at 28357.38 up 27.68 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8797.20 up 18.80 points.

Nifty PSU Bank is the top gainer among the sectoral indices on NSE. The index is trading at 3449.60 levels up by 45.20 points or 1.33%.

Bank of Baroda is trading at Rs 187.60 per share, up by Rs 3.55 per share or 1.93%. State Bank of India is trading at Rs 280.40 per share, up by Rs 4.55 per share or 1.65%.
Intraday Tips

Adani Ports is the top gainer in the Sensex. The stock is trading at Rs 312.45 per share up by 2.63%. State Bank of India is contributing the most to the Sensex gains.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28357.38 up 27.68 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8797.20 up 18.80 points. A total of 57 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 7 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down by 0.01% at 13505.08, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.42% at 13640.10.

Some buying activity is seen in Telecom, Utilities and Information Technology while Oil & Gas, Energy, FMCG, Healthcare are showing weakness on BSE.

Grasim, Tech Mahindra, Adani Ports, IndusInd Bank and SBIN are among the gainers, whereas Aurobindo Pharma, ZEEL, Tata Motors, BPCL and LupinPharma are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour.
